| I just wanted to give you an update on the porting to Mac OS X Lion. First the bad news. Unfortunately I do not see the new version being available until March 2012. I know this is already affecting users and that the program cannot run on new Apple machines, but we are working as hard as we can to get the new version completed. The next version will have important improvements that are expected in modern applications such as multiple undo, better PDF support and parity with the features in the Windows version - for example, transparency support and bezier paths. |

| It is due time for a progress update on the status of the Lion version of Ready,Set,Go! As I said before, we have decided to devote our resources to rewriting Ready,Set,Go! to take full advantage of the native features of Mac OS X instead of making the minimum effort to convert the existing code to run on OS X. As with all large projects the details become clearer as you progress. I will have to say that the new version will take longer than planned and will not be ready until the beginning of 2012. While I cannot give more precise timing until we have progressed further into the work I will give more details on the development in future emails. |

This is a short message to tell our customers that RSG will be transitioning to Mac OS X Lion.
Currently RSG requires Rosetta to be installed on Mac OS X, but Apple have decided that Lion won't have the option to install Rosetta any longer. We faced a choice of keeping RSG pretty much as it is, but make it Lion compatible, or to rewrite the program to take advantage of the new features that OS X brings. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to do both. Diwan is committed to RSG, as we know well that there is still a place in the market for the features that RSG brings and our approach to ease of use and professional publishing. We have made the choice to transition RSG to a new platform so that it can benefit from a much faster rate of development in the future. However, we will only be able to complete this by December of this year. This means there will be a period where RSG will not be able to run on new systems and computers from Apple. While this may not be an acceptable decision for some of our customers, this is the only way I can see to make RSG's future secure and to take advantage of the exciting possibilities that new computer technology brings. We are hard at work on the new version and I expect to keep you updated regularly with progress and highlights of the new features. Thank you for your loyalty to RSG. |
